DLMS UA and COBEI Announce Liaison Agreement

DLMS UA and Comitê Brasileiro de Eletricidade, Eletrônica, Iluminação e Telecomunicações (Cobei) are pleased to announce the signing of a liaison agreement aimed at fostering the adoption of open standards in Brazil. This strategic partnership establishes a framework for cooperation and information exchange between the two organizations.

Through this agreement, DLMS UA and Cobei will work collaboratively to harmonize technical standards, ensuring the deployment of secure and reliable products and systems within Brazil’s electrical and electronic sectors. By aligning their efforts, the two organizations aim to promote interoperability and best practices that enhance the efficiency and security of metering and energy management solutions.

“This liaison agreement marks an important milestone in our mission to drive the adoption of global open standards in Brazil,” said Sergio Lazzarotto, President & Executive Director of DLMS UA. “By working closely with Cobei, we are strengthening our commitment to ensuring that Brazilian industries benefit from internationally recognized, secure, and interoperable technologies.”

Cobei, a private, non-profit association, plays a crucial role in supporting and advancing technical standardization in Brazil. The organization actively participates in councils, committees, and technical subcommittees of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and supports the Brazilian standardization process through ABNT/CB-003 – the Brazilian Committee for Electricity.

“This partnership aligns perfectly with our mission to mobilize companies and entities in the electrotechnical sector, supporting technical standardization efforts at both national and international levels,” stated Mr. José Viel, Superintendente of Cobei. “We look forward to collaborating with DLMS UA to enhance Brazil’s regulatory framework and promote innovation in the sector.”
