To obtain the DLMS UA Product Qualification Certificate for compatibility, members must submit their devices for testing to a DLMS UA Accredited Test Laboratory.

However, to aid members, DLMS UA has developed test tools to help members to optimize device development.

iDTT Development Test Tool

iDTT is a tool developed to accelerate development time and increase confidence levels before submitting a product for IDIS Package 3 compatibility certification. The excerpt for IDIS Package 3 can be found here.

The iDTT licensee can configure the test tool according to implemented functionalities and verify them using defined DLMS UA test scripts.

Technical details

The iDTT is a software that implements Abtstract Test Cases dedicated to the IDIS Package 3 specification.

The iDTT runs on a PC under 64-bit Windows 7, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 (from iDTT 3.0V108).

The iDTT acts as a DLMS/COSEM test client whereas the Device Under Test (DUT) acts as a DLMS/COSEM server.

The iDTT allows the selection, parametrization and execution of the Test Scripts using the information taken from the Conformance Test Information (CTI) file and the information obtained by the iDTT from the DUT.

Each license can be registered on three devices.

All devices must be tested in their native communication technology when applying for DLMS UA Product Qualification Certificate for compatibilty. For the most relevant communication technologies, DLMS UA imposes the use of accredited communication devices for testing purposes.

Members purchase a license via an annual ‘subscription’ fee, that gives ongoing access to all upgrades and updates and ensures that the member automatically has access to the latest version of the test tool as soon as it is available. Free email support is also included as part of this license model.

The test tool to be used for compatibility testing is the iDTT3.0 and will be available from June 20th 2023.
